Classic Cuban-Style Picadillo Recipe

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can tomato sauce (8 oz)
- ¼ cup green olives, sliced
- ¼ cup raisins
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and minced garlic to the skillet. Cook until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in tomato sauce, green olives, raisins, ground cumin, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot with rice or tortillas.
