Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Flank steak cut into large pieces
  • 1 large Onion sliced
  • 1 large Green bell pepper sliced
  • 1 large Red bell pepper sliced
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 cup Tomato sauce
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoon Olive oil

Instructions 

  1. 1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the flank steak and brown on all sides.
  3. 3. Remove the steak and set aside.
  4. 4. In the same pot, add onions, bell peppers, and garlic. Cook until softened.
  5. 5. Stir in tomato sauce, beef broth, cumin, oregano, salt, and pepper.
  6. 6. Return the steak to the pot. Cover and simmer for about 2 hours, until the meat is tender and can be shredded easily.
  7. 7. Shred the meat using two forks and mix it with the sauce in the pot.
  8. 8. Serve hot with rice or plantains.
