Ingredients 

Main Ingredients

  • 2 lbs Pork shoulder cut into chunks
  • 1 large can Hominy drained and rinsed
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon Chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon Oregano
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 6 cups Chicken broth
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, heat some oil over medium heat. Add the pork and cook until browned on all sides.
  2. 2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot. Cook until the onion is translucent.
  3. 3. Stir in the chili powder, oregano, and cumin. Cook for another minute.
  4. 4. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 1.5 hours, or until the pork is tender.
  5. 5. Add the hominy and continue to simmer for another 30 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. 6. Serve hot with your favorite toppings like shredded cabbage, radishes, lime wedges, and cilantro.
