Ingredients

  • 1 cup Red wine
  • 1 cup Beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Shallots finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme fresh
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • to taste Salt and pepper

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add the shallots and cook until softened, about 2 minutes.
  3. 3. Pour in the red wine and beef broth, then add the thyme and sugar.
  4. 4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until the sauce is reduced by half, about 15 minutes.
  5. 5. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm.
