- 1 cup unsalted butter cut into pieces
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped nuts optional
Instructions
- 1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- 2. Add sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir constantly until the mixture reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.
- 3. Pour the mixture onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread it evenly.
- 4. Sprinkle chopped nuts on top if using. Let it cool completely.
- 5. Break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
